Having problems with your Nokia phone?
We’ve found it’s possible to fix many phone problems yourself in a few minutes – including phone freezes, application crashes, sound problems and a blank display. To save yourself time, before you contact us for a repair try these quick fixes.
Easy fix 1: restart your phone
Turn your phone off and take the battery out. Wait a few minutes then put the battery in and turn your phone on. If your battery is not removable, press and hold the power button until the phone vibrates and the screen displays the “Goodbye” message.
Easy fix 2: reset your phone

  1. Press and hold the power key for about 10 seconds. The phone switches off.
  2. To switch your phone on again, press the power key.
Option 2: UI reset
  1. Select Settings > About menu reset your phone
Warning: This erases all the personal content, including apps that have been purchased and downloaded (may be re-downloaded again) and restores the factory settings.
Easy fix 3: update your phone’s software
You might not be using the most recent software for your phone. It takes about 15 minutes to update.
We recommend you back up your data and contacts first.
Check for updates automatically
Many Nokia phones can update automatically: just select Menu > Settings > Phone > Phone updates

If you have a Nokia with Windows phone, you can download updates using Zune on your PC:
  1. Select Start on your phone
  2. Flick left to the App list and tap Settings > Phone update
  3. If an update is available, connect your phone to your computer using a USB cable.
  4. On your computer, open Zune and select Settings > Phone > Update
